                    Overview of the Ada Information Clearinghouse

          The   Ada   Information   Clearinghouse   (AdaIC)    disseminates
          information   on   both   government-sponsored   and   commercial
          activities relating to the  Ada  programming  language, compilers
          for Ada,  support tools for Ada software development, classes and
          seminars  on  Ada,  Ada-related  books and documents, Ada-related
          newsletters,  the  Ada  Software   Repository   and   other  such
          resources, and other items of interest to the Ada community.  The
          AdaIC provides  these  services  by  answering  questions  on the
          phone, mailing literature, supporting a hardcopy mailing list (no
          charge),  handing out literature at conferences, and  maintaining
          the public access Ada Information Bulletin Board.   The  AdaIC is
          operated  by IIT Research Institute under  contract  to  the  Ada
          Joint Program Office.

          The AdaIC Electronic Bulletin  Board  can  be accessed by dialing
          202/694-0215 or 301/459-3864.  Once  the  bulletin  board's modem
          answers,  it waits to receive up to  three  carriage  returns  in
          order to match baud rates with the user.  Users should  set their
          telecommunications packages to the following parameters:

               Baud Rate: 300, 1200, or 2400
               Parity: None
               Data Bits: 8
               Stop Bits: 1

          At  this  time,  there  are  seven  directories  available: <Ada-
          information>,  <Language  Reference  Manual>, <Ada-Commentaries>,
          <Rationale>, <CAIS>, <Newsletter>, and <CREASE>.    See  the file
          ADARBBS.HLP in the directory PD2:<ADA.ADAIC> in the  Ada Software
          Repository (ASR) for more  information  on  the contents of these
          directories and how to use the AdaIC Electronic Bulletin Board.

          title.  The AdaIC will mail hardcopy of these files to you or you
