Windows NT Terminal Server: What It Is, How It Works
Terry Stowers, Principal Technology SpecialistMicrosoft Corporation
Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition was released in June of this year. NT Terminal Server adds Windows-based terminal support to Windows NT Server and a thin client to the Windows product line. It supports multiple concurrent logons from different desktops. Terry Stowers of Microsoft will describe and demonstrate Windows NT Terminal Server and the Windows-based terminals that use it.

What you always wanted to know about Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) but were afraid to ask
Thad Anderson, Vice President, MarketingSystem Solutions Incorporated
- What is TCO?
- Can you measure TCO? If so, how?
- How can I reduce TCO in my organization?
Much has been made lately of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and with good reason. According to Microsoft, Gartner Group and International Data Corp., the cost of acquiring and supporting each Windows-based computer can run into five figures annually. What's more surprising, hardware and software capital expenses account for only a small portion of that cost. The remainder is taken up by management and support costs. As the annual cost of PC ownership spirals even as the cost of PC hardware plummets, IT managers are feeling the pain. Only by understanding the factors that contribute to the cost of those PCs can you begin to take some real steps toward controlling costs. This session will endeavor to answer the questions above with a high-level overview of TCO, a discussion of various TCO models and some steps you can take to reduce your Total Cost of Ownership.
